Privacy Policy — Glanceable Boards for Jira

Glanceable Boards ("the App") is an Atlassian Forge application published by Softwired Digital Pty Ltd. This policy describes what the App stores, where it stores it, and what happens to it. Read it with the Glanceable Boards End User Licence Agreement.

1. The short version

The App is a view over the Jira issues you already have. It stores board settings and, if you upload one, a board background image. It does not collect personal data, it makes no network calls outside your own Atlassian tenant, and there are no Softwired servers holding anything.

2. What the App stores

Board settings. Atlassian Forge key-value storage holds one record per board:

The board's name and its JQL scope (the filter that decides which issues appear)
Its lists, with any status mapping and work-in-progress limits
Colour palette, theme, cover size, density, whether covers are shown
Which fields are visible on a card, the template it was created from, and created/updated dates

A board background image, if an administrator uploads one. Atlassian Forge Object Store holds the image bytes. Your browser uploads them straight to Atlassian over a pre-signed URL, so the App's server-side code never touches the file.

Per-card settings, written onto your own Jira issues as Jira issue properties: which list a card sits in on each board, its cover, its checklist items, and whether it is archived. They live on your issues, inside your Jira. The App keeps no copy.

3. What the App does not store

No account identifiers, email addresses, display names or avatars
No credentials of any kind
No issue titles, descriptions, comments or attachments
No analytics, telemetry, behavioural tracking or cookies
No payment information — Atlassian Marketplace handles billing

The App reads and writes assignees, reporters, comments and @mentions through Jira's own fields and comment API, as the signed-in user, at the moment you open the board. It copies none of it into App-owned storage.

4. One honest exception

A board's name and JQL scope are free text. An administrator types them, and the App stores them exactly as typed. An administrator who writes a query naming a person — for example a scope containing assignee = "5b10a2..." — puts that identifier into the App's storage as part of their own query. The App does not read, index or use it as an identifier, but we would rather state this than claim an absolute we cannot keep.

5. Where it is stored

All App storage is Atlassian Forge app-scoped storage:

Data stays inside your Jira instance's data-residency region
Storage is isolated per Jira instance and is not shared between customers
Nothing leaves Atlassian infrastructure. Softwired operates no servers for this App

6. Retention and deletion

Delete a board in the App. Its settings and its background image go with it.
Uninstall the App. Atlassian then removes its app-scoped storage for your tenant, on Forge's own cleanup schedule. Your Jira issues are untouched.
Issue properties stay on your issues. The per-card settings in section 2 are data on your own Jira issues. Uninstalling the App does not strip them, and they carry no personal data.
To have stored data deleted while keeping the App installed, email help@softwired.com.au with your Jira site URL. We will arrange it within 30 days.

7. Sharing

We never sell, share or transfer your data to third parties. The App's manifest declares no external domains and no external permissions, so in normal operation it makes no network call outside your own tenant's Atlassian APIs. We would disclose data only where the law compels it.

8. Security

Built entirely on Atlassian Forge, running on Atlassian infrastructure
Every API call runs through Forge authentication as the signed-in user, so Jira's own project permissions decide what appears. The App cannot show anyone an issue Jira would hide from them
TLS in transit, Atlassian encryption at rest, tenant isolation enforced by the platform
The App declares no external egress

9. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under GDPR. If you are a California resident, we do not sell personal information and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Because the App stores no personal data, most requests resolve by deleting a board or uninstalling. For anything else, email help@softwired.com.au with your Jira site URL.

10. Children

The App is not directed to anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Your responsibilities as an administrator

Get the permissions your organisation requires before installing
Tell your users the App is in use, if your policies require it
Avoid putting personal data into board names and JQL scopes (see section 4)

12. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App or the law. The "last updated" date above changes with it; material changes are noted on the Atlassian Marketplace listing.
